PRESS RELEASE: AGN CONDEMNS ATTACK ON NIGERIANS BY SOUTH AFRICANS

Actors Guild of Nigeria has spoken against incessant xenophobic attack on Nigerians and other foreign nationals in South Africa.
AGN National PRO, High Chief Mcsmith Ochendo in a statement said that the attack is a pointer that South Africa has not fully appreciated the enormous sacrifice Nigeria as a nation made towards the emancipation of South Africa.
AGN President AMB Emeka Ike
According to the AGN Image maker “Consequent upon resolutions unanimously agreed by a vast majority of our congress which held at Eko Hotel and Suite, we wish to condemn in strong terms the xenophobic attacks on Africans in general and Nigerians in particular in South Africa. We wish to recall that for the umpteenth time our citizens have been subjected to unpleasant conditions in South Africa without a reprisal response to their citizens in our country. South Africa has enjoyed humongous economic boom via her indigenous companies in Nigeria like MTN, DSTV, Shoprite, Banks etc. Nigeria has been gradually swallowed in cultural imperialism with the emergence of these companies. It is so because we provided an enabling environment for them. We hereby advise the Nigeria government to use every diplomatic means possible to call the South African Government to order. Nigerians and indeed all citizens of the world should be allowed to visit, live or work in any part of the continent without fear of attack as long as they meet local statutory requirements of the country of their sojourn. AMB. Emeka Ike, President, Actors Guild of Nigeria is very crestfallen by this development from South Africa and would want the Federal Government of Nigeria to take immediate action to ensure the safety of lives and property of Nigerians in South Africa, AGN also

calls for calm and restraint at home even in the face of obvious provocation that is capable of sparking off a reprisal. AGN President AMB Emeka Ike also wants Government to draw the attention of South Africa to the danger the actions of its citizens portend given the fact that the world has become a global village where political and economic interests have become universal”. AGN National PRO, High Chief Mcsmith Ochendo said

BREAKING NEWS: EMEKA IKE THREATENS TO ARREST IBINABO.....

EMEKA IKE CONSTITUTES NEW BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR ACTORS GUILD OF NIGERIA (AGN).
EMEKA IKE

Smarting from his victory at the federal high court on March 16, 2015 Amb. Emeka Ike president of Actors Guild of Nigeria is set to unveil a new board of trustees for the Guild
A statement signed by the National PRO Mcsmith Ochendo said that the new board of trustees is made of men and women of repute drawn from the six Geo-political zone of the country.
The 15-man Board which shall be inaugurated in May is made of erudite politicians, Business moguls, the academia and the entertainment industry - Nollywood.
“When the full names of the newly constituted Board of Trustees are finally made public the industry will be proud of the men and women who have made their mark in their various fields of Endeavor. Take it from me, AGN is now global brand and can no longer be run like a personal enterprise by a few” Ochendo said
A federal high court sitting in Lagos had dissolved the Ifeanyi Dike led Board of trustees for running the affairs of the Guild since inception.
Speaking further the AGN National PRO said... “We want to appeal to the Nigerian Media to stop referring and relating to Ibinabo as president of AGN, because she has been sacked by the federal high court. Ibinabo Fiberesima cannot be bigger than the laws of our land. She is violating a court Judgement and the media should stop indulging her.  As at today there is no proof that Ibinabo fiberesima has filled any appeal but she keeps spreading falsehood on social media. The court is not swayed by social media propaganda. The Federal high court gave her ninety days to surrender the Guild’s documents in her possession and the court also ruled that the Guild’s account should be audited but Ibinabo is using thugs and cultists to harass our President, Amb. Emeka Ike and auditors sent to audit the Guild’s account as instructed by the federal high court. To this end we have filled contempt of court against Ibinabo fiberesima for violating court judgment and deceiving the Nigerian public. We are also asking the court to grant us order to immediately arrest Ibinabo and bring her to Judgement once and for all. We have also decided to write to the EFCC to investigate her financial misappropriation. Remember this is the same Ibinabo Fiberesima who was convicted in a case of man-slaughter between her and the government of Lagos State a few years back where she caused the death of Dr Suraj Giwa, a US trained doctor via drinking and dangerous driving and was sentenced to 5 years in prison before Hon. Justice D.O Oluwayemi with suit NO LD/4CA/07.  She has not shown any remorse, she has not served her jail term. She is an ex-convict. She ought not to be AGN president, even our guild’s constitution forbids it but Ifeanyi Dike and his moribund BOT shamelessly plunged the guild into this mess until the court did the needful by sacking the Jezebel of Nollywood” Ochendo concludes.

ALERT: OUR CULTURE AND OUR VILLAGE ARE NOT FOR SALE.....NIGERIAN ARTISTES ECHOS...

The creation of the Artist Village National Council for Art and Culture has not only turned out to be Visionary but also one of the most significant in the history of Arts administration and Management in the Nigerian Public Sector in the Last 30years.The Artist Village National Council for Art and Culture represents the first and only community of Creative entrepreneurs anywhere in the West African Coast.

The Artist Village National Council for Art and Culture comprises: Practitioners,Guilds/Associations and Arts Organizations in all Arts forms and across all Media. There is no gain saying the fact that no major cultural or Artistic event both home and abroad in the last Ten years has taken place without the involvement and input of one or more professional organizations from the Artist Village National Council for Art and Culture. So why SCRAP the Artist Village National Council for Art and Culture?The print,Electronic and the social media had been agog with reports of the sale/concessionaire of the fallow grounds around the National Theater. Although,our position is that the concessionaire is not good for the Arts and Culture,We think the Government should at least build on the efforts of the Practitioners in the last last 20years by upgrading and developing infrastructures that will help to fulfill the Originally stated Objectives of the federal Government of developing the Arts and Culture sector in Nigeria.

Nipponcy Richard speaking to some artist and creative personalities earlier today@ The Artist Village National Council for Art and Culture,
 this is what they have to tell the public:

ABRAHAM OSAJIE(CEO Street Storm Concept):
" That's our country for you
bro,many of the so called stars today
 one way or the other passed through the
Artists' village yet they will keep quiet
 when clueless people like(Chief Edem Duke
and Mallam Kabiru) who don't know that the
 Arts and Culture is bigger and more rooted
than Entertainment,comment or say all sort of
 lies about the Artist village.I sorry for you who
 decides to burn bridges that you went through to
get to stardom or limelight,you forget you might need to come back
someday.Abi make we begin mention names?"

MC RICHARD(Comedian):
" The truth be told what
ever goes on in the National Theater
 is prepared from the Artist Village and
 why does the government want to take youths
 that are there back into
 (street life,joblessness,crime etc)
 we truly need a CHANGE"

JUSTIN EZIRIM(CEO Justdance Venture):
 "Some people will read this and feel less
concern....yet they run to National Council for Arts and Culture
 (NCAC)  artists village to save them from one event to another.
God is watching ooooo"
